Oyama was born from something deeply personal — our own struggles, and those of our loved ones, in finding the right support for mental and emotional well-being.
Through those experiences, we realized something powerful: the tools to understand ourselves, manage challenges, and grow as humans shouldn’t be reserved for therapy rooms. They belong in everyday life — and especially in the workplace.
We believe that the same principles that help people heal — self-awareness, emotional regulation, communication, and resilience — are the very skills that help teams perform better together.
That’s why we built Oyama: a platform that makes human skills training accessible to everyone.
Thus, helping organizations grow through better connection, collaboration, and well-being.
The name Oyama means “big mountain” in Japanese. It reminds us of what we aim to build — tools that help people stay grounded, steady, and resilient, no matter what challenges they face.

Founder & CEO
Niklas is a serial entrepreneur and deeply passionate about innovation and its commercialization.

He is a a pioneer in digital mental health and a domain expert in digital health.


Sérgio Isidoro
Co-founder & CTO
Sérgio is an experienced software engineer and a "generalist geek" as he would call himself.
He has strong interest in developing diverse and inclusive cultures and he has has a proven track-record of building tech for leading Finnish startups in fintech and health, such as Holvi and Kaiku Health.
Max Ytterberg
Product Designer
Max is an empathetic designer and product visionary with 15+ years of background in product design, entrepreneurship and service innovation.

Van Ha
UI & Graphical designer
Van is a talented and capable graphical designer. She joined Oyama as a trainee in UX/UI design and has since then grown into a core part of the team.
